This place exceeded our expectations. The host was wonderful! Upon late arrival due to a late rental car (which was no problem for the host), we were greeted with bottle of welcome processco and a lovely gift that was local to the area. Our hosts were kind, very accommodating and quick with responses. We were also given great tips as to where to go during our stay. The place itself is perfect! Super clean, spacious, great beds and a lovely patio with an amazing view. We were so thankful not to have stayed right in the bustling centre of Taormina as we were literally steps from the cable car that took 5-10mins to get up to the heart of everything. Staying by the beach was amazing! We parked our rental car and didn’t drive it once during our 4 day stay. We were able to find free parking on the street, right out front. Although, I suggest taking the $25 euro per day to park in their driveway as it keeps your rental safe from any accidental “bumps” from passing cars. This place was awesome. We will be back - highly recommend!!
Exceeded expectations. While it’s understandable that first time visitors to Taormina would want to stay at the Belmond Sant'Andrea or Timeo, the perfect alternative is La Terrazza, wonderfully situated only a few minutes walk to Mazzaro beach and to one of our favorite seafood restaurants ever, Il Barcaiolo. The apartment is like brand new, completely remodeled, with modern touches and charming for its coastal location. We couldn’t be happier. Two full bathrooms, a well sized balcony and plenty of windows that provide views of the amazing Ionian Sea. Laura the caretaker met is at check-in time and provided all the instructions we needed for our stay. Luckily able to park our car at the property, but otherwise there is nearby parking and the cable car up to Taormina Central is just a few minutes away by walking. The owner’s relative Valeria checked in on us the first evening to make sure everything was to our liking and quickly fixed the terrace umbrella for us as it wasn’t opening, the issue was quickly addressed. We would most definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends! We already miss Taormina.
