"Il Palmento" is a villa with a private saltwater pool (chlorine free) and a verdant garden located on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, ideal for families with children or a group of friends.

As well as the wonderful exterior with its panoramic sea view terraces and dining areas for alfresco lunches and dinners under the stars, the interiors of the main house and cottage are also welcoming and comfortable.

In a not so far past, a "palmento" was a place with basins, built in black lava stone, where the grapes were crushed and processed to make wine and store it. This facility is now a precious witness of a rich cultural heritage and an ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday.

The villa is in a great location with an amazing view out to sea. The houses are well equipped but have features that mean they're unlikely to be suitable for really young children. Swimming pool is one of the best we've had on holiday, with plenty of places to sunbathe or sit in the shade (or watching for shooting stars after dark). The villa's location in the hills meant it was cooler than the coastal towns which was very refreshing after a busy day doing the tourist things.The local town has several great restaurants and shops for groceries.

Staying at this villa and cottage felt like a privilege to experience history! The owners have done an outstanding job of preserving the history/antiquity of this property, while incorporating all the modern conveniences one could need on holiday. The villa is located in a very quiet and relaxing area, but it is extremely easy to drive to Taormina, Mt. Etna, Siracusa, etc. The drive times were short from this property. We found it easy to obtain groceries from the stores in Trecastagni just minutes away and found everything we needed to cook. The villas were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The pool is a wonderful reprieve at the end of the day. Most importantly, the management of this Villa is outstanding with excellent communication available at all times. We could not have asked for a more pleasant experience!

This villa is like out of a fairytale. The grounds are vast, it feels very private, the pool is the best we ever experienced and we loved the view. Both houses are comfortable with many Sicilian details. Everything was perfect. Novae Dimore helped us organize the beginning of our trip to Sicily so that we wouldn't have to arrive at night at the villa, which I really appreciated. Wish we could stay longer!

The agency that manages the house has been very friendly and always available. They also took excellent care of our needs. The tips on site about shopping and directions were great.The view, from the house is fantastic, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Wir hatten hier eine perfekte Woche. Das Haus ist eine alte mit Liebe zum Detail restaurierte weinmühle. Wenn sich das Tor zum Grundstück öffnet bietet sich ein fantastischer Blick auf das Tal und Meer. Das ganze Grundstück hat liebevoll gestaltete Sitzgelegenheit im Freien, die den Aufenthalt abwechslungsreich und kurzweilig machen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, und der Blick vom essplatz unbezahlbar! Der Pool ist kalt aber schön. Auch der Kontakt mit der Agentur war perfekt, wir konnten ohne Aufpreis am Abreisetag bis 14 Uhr im Haus bleiben. Durch das zweite kleine Haus auf dem Grundstück eignet es sich besonders für einen Urlaub mit zwei Familien, wie wir es waren! Wir können die Gegend mit dem kleinen Bergdorf Trecastagni und das Haus nur weiterempfehlen! Es war im Oktober zwar etwas kühler dort oben aber jeden Cent wert! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

We had a very nice stay in Palmento Trecastagni. The old mill has been restored and decorated with much taste, it is really a beautiful and unique property.The kitchen is well equipped. Terrace, garden and pool area are wonderful, with a view of the sea and the whole area north of Catania. In October it gets a bit chilly in the evening and the pool is really refreshing... The location is very quiet but a bit outside of town, you really need a car to get around, then it's only a 5 min drive to Trecastagni. For other destinations you need to get to the highway at Acireale, which is a 15-20 min drive through rather chaotic villages. All in all, we would certainly recommend staying here, both for families or a group of friends!

We visit Sicily by the end of August. The house and the garden is wonderful and we (in total 6 adults) totally enjoyed our time here. From the pool you have a great view over cantania and the sea. The house is well equipped and the real estate was very kind. They gave us great tips and answered within a short time. Thanks a lot for your great hospitality!
